Description:
Two figures of Sinagua Indians in pueblo rock setting. A female, dressed in an animal hide garment fastened on the proper right shoulder, sits on a bronze rock with her proper right leg bent and tucked under her proper left leg. She is pouring water from a small olla or bronze pot that she holds with both hands, into a larger pot below. Her feet are shod in thong sisal sandals and she wears bracelets and a necklace. The male figure stands behind her, holding a staff in front of him with both hands. He is dressed in a thong loin cloth and sisal sandals, and wears earrings and a necklace. His body is turned slightly to the left, and his left leg steps up on a rock. Both figures are set on a raised area with stream and native vegetation, bordered by a sandstone wall. Twelve plaques on the surrounding sandstone wall give the history of the native Sinagua peoples in the Sedona area from A.D. 700 to A.D. 1400.
