    Description: 
    A Civil War memorial consisting of a bronze eagle, with wings spread, perched on a marble sphere, mounted on a granite shaft. The upper section of the shaft is fluted and the lower section is polished. The two sections are divided by a band of stars. On the front of the polished section of the shaft is a bronze medal containing an eagle with wings spread and a flag. On the back of the polished section of the shaft is a bronze star of the Grand Army of the Republic. The shaft rests on a square, four-tiered base. The memorial is surrounded by a walkway, with stairs before it.
