    Description: 
    An eagle is perched on top of a shield with its wings pointing upward. The eagle is mounted on a tall Doric pillar with octagonal base. The base, atop two steps.

    Remarks: 
    The memorial cost $3,600 and was erected in honor of Old Forge veterans of World War I and World War II. The granite pillar came from a demolished bank building. The eagle was done by Lawrence Russo; the granite base was designed by Sirriani Monument Works. The memorial was dedicated Oct. 15, 1950 with a musical fundraising event featuring singer Rosalie Allen. IAS files contain copy of article from Scrantonian, Oct. 15, 1950.
