    Abstract sculpture consisting of two chromed steel uprights bolted together to compress a block of fired clay. Set on a square plaza of concrete surfaced with tile and bordered by live plantings.

    IAS files include artist's proposal and related HUD documentation and correspondence, including copy of purchase order.
    Commissioned in 1982 for $5,000 as part of a project to provide outdoor sculpture for selected community centers in Jacksonville. Funds were provided by the Community Development Block Grant Program administered by the City of Jacksonville, Department of Housing and Urban Development. Neighborhood selection committees awarded each of the final commissions. Sculptor's design included plaza and plantings. Silcox Concrete laid concrete for the plaza. Ocala Chrome Plating applied chrome finish to sculpture's two steel components.
