Description:
Five bas-relief murals depicting natural desert life through a variety of images including plants, the sun, deer, doves, owls, roadrunners, quail, cacti, rabbits, foxes, lizards, trees and branches, squirrels, ocotillo, clouds, a sunflower, corn and snowflakes. Mural three includes an Indian woman with her hair in a ponytail, holding a bowl in the crook of her proper left arm. Mural two includes two Indian men wearing loin clothes and holding weapons, perhaps spears. One male walks in proper right profile, approaching a deer that is running away. The murals are located throughout the Palm Desert Town Center shopping mall. Mural one located over the main entrance is the only mural installed outside building. Murals two and three are located on the inside walls of the east side of the building. Murals four and five are located on the inside walls of the west side of the building.
