Echo Park, Southeast side of Lake, Los Angeles, California 1999-2013.
    Remarks:
The sculpture was funded through the Public Works of Art Project (PWAP) under Bernard Roufberg, regional clerk. Originally the sculpture was installed at the tip of a peninsula on the lake’s north shore, facing away from the lake. The sculpture remained there until 1980 when it was placed in storage due to vandalism. In 1999, the sculpture was relocated to the southeastern shore, facing toward the lake. In 2013, as part of a two-year, $85-million renovation of the park and lake, the sculpture was reinstalled in its original location on the lake's north shore, facing away from the lake. IAS image files show the sculpture before it was reinstalled. IAS files contain copy of related newspaper clippings from Los Angeles Times, June 29, 1934, pg. 1-2; and Jan. 27, 1935, pg. 2, pg. 8; and copy of Municipal Art Department Inventory form. IAS files also contain article from the Los Angeles Magazine, May 21, 2013, detailing the reinstallation of the sculpture following renovation of the park. IAS files also contain text of KCET TV article on the artist and sculpture.
