    Description: 
    Lucette Diana Kensack stands with her hands in front of her waist, wearing a blue bonnet, a short-sleeved red blouse with black trim, and a floor-length grey skirt with black stripes. To her proper right stands a much smaller figure of Paul Bunyan. Both figures rest on a rectangular base with a fence around the top.

    Sign in front of base reads: Hackensack Minnesota/ HOME OF LUCETTE KENSACK/PAUL BUNYAN'S SWEETHEART/1952/ BIRTHPLACE OF/LITTLE PAUL JR./1992. In 1991 high winds blew the figure's head off and a new one was carved by Jerry Faber. The figure of Paul Bunyan was added in 1992. IAS files contain related excerpt from Moira Harris' "Monumental Minnesota," St. Paul: Pogo Press, 1992, pg. 64, with information on the figure's construction and history.
