    Description:
Twist is a freestanding abstract sculpture composed of twenty-four slabs of unpolished sandstone stacked and fanned so as to create a gentle twist. At the bottom the slabs are arranged in two separate "legs." Each "leg" is composed of eight slabs of stone. The stone slabs of the two legs are fanned in opposite directions. A third stack of eight stones slabs sits atop the two legs. The bottom four slabs fan clockwise and the top four slabs fan counterclockwise. The sculpture is based on an idea of 1977 and is typical of the artist's pyramidal step sculptures created since 1974.
