    Description: 
    A seated portrait of a clean-shaven Abraham Lincoln with his hands clasped between his knees. He wears a bow-tie, a vest, and a coat. The sculpture is mounted on a circular base. Behind the sculpture is a granite, semicircular wall and bench. The sculpture is approached by three circular steps. An American flag is behind the sculpture.

    On wall behind sculpture: WITH MALICE TOWARD NONE AND CHARITY FOR ALL. On one side of wall: THAT GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE/BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE/SHALL NOT PERISH FROM THE EARTH. On other side of wall: LET US HAVE FAITH THAT RIGHT MAKES MIGHT/AND IN THAT FAITH LET US TO THE END/DARE TO DO OUR DUTY AS WE UNDERSTAND IT.
    The sculpture cost $75,000. Funds were raised through popular subscriptions, the contributions of school children and factory workers, and members of the Lincoln Association. The sculpture was placed at the eastern end of the Lincoln Highway which was to run from the Atlantic to the Pacific. The sculpture was installed through the initiative of the Lincoln Association. Albert Randolph Ross designed the base. The sculpture was dedicated on the 125th anniversary of Lincoln's birthday.
