Remarks:
The pineapple is a symbol of hospitality and is also a major crop of the region. Its yellow sun-like color is a symbol of the county. The sculpture cost $43,000. The sculpture was painted by City Enamel of New York and installed by Jim Rosburg. Nearby plaque reads: PINEAPPLE/MARY ANN UNGER/PAINTED ALUMINUM 1991/BROWARD COUNTY ART IN PUBLIC PLACES 1991.
