(On plaque:) 1995-98 - REACH (Realizing Ethnic Awareness and Cultural Heritage) Across Dayton & Miami Valley citizens created this sculpture to celebrate the cultural heritage of all people. Citizens created a work of art in neighborhood churches, community centers, fairs, festivals, senior centers & schools. Every piece of art created was included. The 2800 pieces were assembled by artists and volunteers who contributed thousands of hours composing the individual sculptures into a 48' panoramic bas relief depicting the Miami Valley--its history, its people, its community identity--& cast in bronze. Gifted to the citizens of Miami Valley. Accepted by Montgomery County Commissioners, Charles Curan, Vickie Pegg, & Don Lucas at the dedication.
