A park beautification project featuring a central fountain made of a cluster of rectangular blocks positioned either vertically or horizontally in the center of a square fountain pool. Water runs off of a main horizontal slab into the pool. Other slabs include two smaller vertical slabs wedged between two larger vertical slabs and other slabs of varying heights standing on end. The fountain seems to cut into a square cement framed plant bed at one of its corners. The fountain is placed in an oblong, landscaped circle accented by a brick walkway and benches.

    Remarks:
The fountain, benches, and walks are part of a Sylvania park beautification project initiated by the Screven County Garden Club and funded by the City of Sylvania. The Bank of Screven County contributed an initial $850 to fund the initial drawings prepared by Roger W. Davis and Associates, landscape architects of Augusta, Georgia. The overall cost of the work was $25,000. Landscape architect Roger Davis of Augusta oversaw the work. Incorporated into the design of the park is a plaque furnished by the Jaycees in memory of local servicemen who died during the Vietnam War. IAS files contain articles from the Sylvania Telephone, Feb. 28, 1980 and May 22, 1980.
