    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was commissioned as a memorial to student Daniel Stephen Goldstein, who died while attending Bates College. It is the college's first commissioned work and was formerly mounted on a wooden base in the lobby of the Schaeffer Theater on the Bates College campus. It was moved to its current site in 1992.
