Description:
A three-acre landscape, divided by the road, holds a collection of various sized crosses, hand-painted signs and a makeshift chapel. The crosses vary in height from one to sixteen feet.

Remarks:
The artist began his Cross Garden in 1976 after the death of his mother, and in 1993 the work was still being added to. Several pieces have been stolen or vandalized over time. IAS files contain related articles from the Birmingham Post Herald, Oct. 5, 1987 and the Centreville Press, April 23, 1986.
