    Description: 
    A full-length standing male "blue collar" factory worker with both arms extended above his head, holding a representation of the West Virginia state seal. The abstracted figure looks skyward and steps forward on his proper right leg. He wears a ball cap and gloves. There is a lunch box between his feet. He stands on a concrete pad. The pad is surrounded by wooden dowels driven into the ground at various depths.

    Remarks: 
    The idea for the statue originated with Mark Barna and Tom Rhule. Barna designed and constructed the state seal. Ruhle and Bob Rice fabricated the figure. In addition, Rice designed the lunch box. IAS files contain related article from the Sunday Gazette-Mail (Charleston, WV), Nov. 28, 1976, pg. 6M, which discusses the creation and installation of the piece. Partial funding of $1,000 was received by the Mayor's office. The sculpture was originally located at Ordnance Park and moved to its present site in 1990.
