    Description: 
    Figurative stone sculpture of an Aztec woman, sitting cross-legged, holding a jug in her lap from which water flows. The woman wears a two-piece dress with a twisted rope belt, and has her hair in two long braids. The woman is seated on a two-tiered octagonal base covered with ceramic tiles which forms the centerpiece to a fountain.

    Remarks: 
    SOS! survey report listed media as granite; previous report from San Diego Historical Society identified media as Bedford Indiana limestone. The fountain was designed by Richard Requa after one in Guadalajara, Mexico. Hord was commissioned to produce the figure, which was completed in time for the California Pacific International Exposition. SOS! report includes citation to related article in Journal of San Diego History, Vol. XXXI, 1985, pg. 177-295.
