Remarks:
The installation was designed by DeMuro, with the help of architect Landis. As a collaborative work in progress which began in 1986, it includes the work of many artisans. Ceramic tiles and reliefs were made by middle school students as part of an interdisciplinary program designed by DeMuro. Assistance in constructing the brick components was provided by summer job corps students. The foundation for the installation was constructed by Red Stick Construction Company. Funding for the project was provided by community sources, the Mayor's Council on Youth Opportunity, South Central Bell, Acme Brick Company, and Red Stick Construction.
