    Description:
A sculpture and medallion affixed to the wall of the hospital. The sculpture consists of a stylized tree-like structure with various figures on each level. At top of the tree is a nurse assisting a patient. Below the nurse a large figure of Florence Nightingale, dressed in long skirt, blouse, and cap, stands with a seated student at a desk to her proper left and a group of students to her proper right. The students emerge as faceless youth at the top and become "dedicated and educated young women." Directly below Florence Nightingale is a young nurse receiving her nurses cap from another person. At the lowest level are a patient's chart, syringe and needle, and books. The seal of Clarkson is at the right of the sculpture.
