Description:
A slab with reliefs and inscriptions set upon a base. The upper section of the slab has a relief of John Lewis in a suit and tie. The lower section of the slab has a relief of two miners on a hillside with mining buildings in the background.

Remarks:
Dedicated by Greene County, Pennsylvania, to all coal miners. Also, a memorial to the victims of the U. S. Steel Robena Mine's Frosty Run Explosion of Dec. 6, 1962. John L. Lewis was the president of the United Mine Workers of America, 1920-1960. Designed by Barbara L. Donatelli and fabricated and erected by Quinet Monument Company. IAS files contain transcription of inscriptions.
