The piece was installed with a $5,000 grant from the now defunct Woodland Art's Center's Art in Public Places Prize and the Mervyn's chain store. The sculpture was three years in the works and commissioned for the library remodeling. IAS files contain an article from ARts Up, dated September 1991.
