    The painting, once considered to be a study for Prendergast's portrait of Annie Sargent Jewett in the Metropolitan's collection (IAP record 36121076), may have been done by Prendergast's student Esther Baldwin Williams. Mrs. Williams owned both this painting and the Prendergast portrait of Annie Sargent Jewett.
