    Description: 
    Four-sectioned cast iron grate surrounds the base of a tree. The grate is a relief design of oak leaves, birds and acorns in a round pattern. Open grill work surrounds the relief work on the outer edges of the grate. Plaque beside grate has relief of oak tree and detailed leaf on left and right side. The plaque and the grate are set directly into the sidewalk.

    Remarks: 
    The grate is one of five representing different species of trees in the downtown Seattle area. The sculpture was funded by the Downtown Seattle Transit Project. SOS! survey reports date of 1987; plaque near grate cites date as 1988.
