    Remarks:
The sculpture was commissioned by Dr. and Mrs. Malouf Abraham, Jr. for their home called "The Citadel." The sculpture evolved from one the artist had created for Texas A&M University titled "The Coming of the Storm." Dr. Abraham designed the plaza and garden where the sculpture is located. The sculpture was cast at Art Castings of Colorado in Loveland, Colorado.
Two granite slabs are placed in walkway leading to sculpture. The first one reads: COMING OF WINTER: THE FORERUNNER/WILLIAM POCHCIOL/1990. The second one reads: "THE IDEA EMBODIED IN THE FORERUNNER IS IN THE NATURE/OF HIS MESSAGE. THE ECOLOGICAL BALANCE OF THE EARTH/AND MAN'S RELATIONSHIP TO HIS FELLOW MAN ARE BOTH IN/TURMOIL. WORSENING TO A POINT OF NO RETURN."/"NEVER IN RECORDED TIME HAS LIFE BEEN SO THREATENED./THE FORERUNNER HAS NO IDENTITY BEYOND HIS MESSAGE.../HE IS THE HARBINGER OF CHAOS, THE COMING OF WINTER/ETERNAL." IAS files contain articles from The Canadian Record, July 5, 1990, pg. 1 and 20; the Amarillo Daily News, July 10, 1990, pg. 4A; an undated article from the Globe-News, pg. 1C and 4C; and a promotional brochure for The Citadel.
