    Remarks:
Sculpture was commissioned by Father Vernon F. Gallagher, former school president, and was a gift of the school's Women's Guild. Beginning in the spring of 1957, the Women's Guild sponsored card parties and other benefits to raise some $6,000 for the sculpture. Pirkner spent eight months creating the sculpture in his Bilthoven, Holland studio. It was originally to be installed near Trinity Hall on the bluff over looking the Monongahela River, but instead was place on what was then called the Senior Walk near the Administration Building.
