The Recreation Pier was built by Pietsch, as a multi-use facility for commercial maritime and recreation. IAS files contain related articles from the Maryland Historical Society vertical files, dated Dec. 27, 1927 and from the Baltimore Daily, Feb. 3, 1970. IAS files contain a 1990 article "The History of Recreation Pier" and a copy of the National Register of Historic Places Inventory Nomination Form for the pier.
