Augustus Lukeman / Roman Bronze Works (On base exedra, under the three plaques on the right side:) MEN AND WOMEN OF BROOKLYN WHO DIED/IN THE WORLD WAR/MCMXIV MCMXVIII (On base exedra, under the three plaques on the left:) THEY GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR LIBERTY/AND UNIVERSAL PEACE/HONOR DUTY COUNTRY (Four bronze plaques plus two missing plaques list in four column format the names of about 500 who died in WWI.) signed Founder's mark appears.
Description:
Standing male figure looking over his proper left shoulder at an angel standing behind him. The male figure is dressed in army fatigues and carries a rifle in his proper left hand. His proper right arm is raised to his chest. The figure group is installed in the center of an exedra wall. The figures are flanded by three plaques on each side which list the names of men who died in WWI.Wreaths dot the areas between the plaques. Benches line the area below the plaques. Brick flooring installed at the base of the exedra benches stretches out to a set of three granite steps with a circular pedestal in the middle.

Remarks:
Lukeman executed the bronze figure group, while French executed the tablets. SOS survey questionnaire reports that at least one of the missing plaques is in storage.
