Description:
Bust of Christopher Columbus atop a rectangular pedestal. Columbus wears a hat and tunic. The bust tapers in shape where it attaches to the pedestal. The monument is surrounded by a chain fence.

Remarks:
Erected by the Italian American Fraternal Club as part of a scholarship fund drive. Miniature versions of the bust were sold in support of the scholarship fund. IAS files contain related articles from the Dearborn Press, Oct. 17, 1974, pg. 9A (which lists donors who contributed at least $100, and gives unveiling date as Oct. 12, 1974); the Dearborn Guide, v. 27 no. 42 (Oct. 16, 1975) and the Dearborn Press & Guide, Oct. 8, 1981.
