    Description: 
    Marker made up of five sections fitted together, the center section being the tallest. On either end are sculpted military pieces, including helmets, canteens, a gas mask, bayonet, saddlebag and ammunition belts. Medallions with emblems of the United States, the Grand Army of the Republic and the Spanish American War also appear on the memorial.

    Remarks: 
    Erected in honor of Minnesota veterans of the Civil War, the Spanish American War and World War I. There was once a sculpted element on top of the center section which was stolen during the 1960s. IAS files include a brochure from the cemetery and an excerpt from the book "Haven in the Heart of the City: the history of Lakewood Cemetery," Minneapolis, MN: Lakewood Cemetery Association, 1992.
