    Remarks:
Nearby plaque: "The Long Beach Venus made her debut in Long Beach in 1924, looking down on Ocean Boulevard from an alcove above the marquee of the Fox West Coast Theater which formerly stood on the site now occupied by Shoreline Square. This graceful figure is an enlarged replica of a 21 inch 18th century bronze entitled "Venus au Bain" sculpted in 1767 by Christophe-Gabriel Allegrain in Paris. The original bronze is part of the Louvre collection. Dedicated on Mar 2, 1989, the Long Beach Venus was restored and returned to this site through the combined efforts of Stanley Cohen and Shoreline Square Associates, the Public Corporation for the Arts and the City of Long Beach. The Long Beach Venus links the proud past of this great City with its bright future. It belongs to the citizens of Long Beach given in perpetuity by the partners of Shoreline Square Associates, Stanley Cohen, North American Taisei Corporation and Marubeni Real Estate Development, Inc."
