    Description: 
    A grouping of a foal, a young girl and a bird. The girl holds oats or seeds in her hands which she holds under the horse's head. The bird is on the ground at their feet eating the seeds that they drop. The girl wears a sleeveless, knee-length dress, lace-up shoes and anklet socks. The group is positioned on a flat plinth, flush with the ground.

    Remarks: 
    The piece was sculpted by Al Hausmann and cast at the studio-foundry of Alabama artist, Cordray Parker, who put the final touches on it. It was commissioned by Kenneth R. Larish, general manager and partner at Maryland Farms. IAS files contain related articles from Brentwood Journal (Brentwood, TN), 1988; Tennessean (March 18, 1988), pg. F5; Flo-Ala, University of North Alabama (Florence, AL), April 28, 1988, pg. 3; Times Daily (Florence, AL), April 17, 1988; and a letter from the artist which discusses the role of Cordray Parker in casting and finishing the piece.
