    Description: 
    Abstract sculpture, partly tubular, partly arch-shaped in form. It has deep vertical and curved incisions over the surface, with concave and convex features. Surface texture is smooth; dark green in coloring.

    Remarks: 
    The title "Hoaka" translated to "crest or crescent" refers to the artist's stylized design of a Hawaiian feather helmet with cross-associations to the Hawaiian rainbow. Sculpture was completely restored in May/June 1993. IAS files contain related article from Hawaii Artreach, 1986, vol. 2, no. 2; and March/April, 1987, pg. 5. IAS files also contain copy of artist's design sketches.
