Description:
A sundial consisting of a shaft-like gnomon set at an angle of approximately 30 degrees from the horizontal, whose shadow falls upon an arc with time indicators on its concave face.

Remarks:
A memorial to Raye Hines Rigney given by her daughter Elsie Raye Rigney Carr and her daughter's husband Jesse Lawrence Carr. Rigney was a member of the New Mexico State University Class of 1911, and her daughter was a member of the Class of 1936. Cost was $5,000. The designer was formerly a landscape architect at the University, and the sundial was constructed by the University's physical plant department and local craftsmen.
