Description:
Bronze plaque bearing a bas-relief medallion depicting the homestead of Hayes and Dolly Copp. The Copp house, a cape with ell barn, is on the left. A large tree stands in front of the house. A road leading through mountains is on the right. The plaque is mounted to the front of a natural-form boulder, possibly granite.

Remarks:
Hayes and Dolly Copp were the first settlers of Pinkham Notch in the White Mountains. Funds for the memorial were raised by campers at the Dolly Copp Campground, assisted by members of the Gorham Woman's Club, and initiated by the Dolly Copp Association. IAS files contain copies of related articles from Berlin (NH) Reporter, Sept. 7, 1933 and Manchester (NH) Union, Aug. 31, 1933. IAS files contain copy of related Dolly Copp Campers Association information sheet.
