    Description: 
    Full-length figure group of William Tell and his son, Walter. The father stands on the proper right. He wears a tunic and shorts. He has a beard and holds a crossbow over his proper right shoulder. His proper left hand rests on his son's shoulder. The young boy stands on the proper left and gazes up at his father. The boy wears a short tunic and is barefoot. The bronze sculpture stands on a limestone block base in the midst of a larger fountain structure. The fountain has seven waterfalls.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture is copied from an original sculpture by Kissling which stands in the city of Altdorf, Switzerland. The sculpture was funded by Austin Corbin, city attorney of Tell City; the fountain was funded by Tell City Bank. Cost of the sculpture was $25,000. IAS files contain copies of related articles from the Tell City Thursday News, Jan. 12, 1967 and Aug. 22, 1974; Evansville Courier, July 29, 1974 and Aug. 11, 1974; and Indianapolis Star, Jan. 21, 1990.
