Description:
A World War I soldier in uniform and helmet rests his proper left arm on the parapet of a trench. He holds the barrel of his rifle with a bayonet attached with his proper right hand, the butt of which rests by his proper left foot. The figure is at the base of a stairway and is surrounded by panels inscribed with names of those who served in the war.
