Description:
The sculpture is a bowl-shaped salmon ladder which incorporates a concrete pool and weir type ladder with ten steps, arcing around a hydroelectric plant.

Remarks:
The Brenke Fish Ladder is the fifth in a series of ladders designed to bring salmon into downtown Lansing. The project was sponsored primarily by City Councilman William A. Brenke and cost $140,392. IAS files contain related articles from the Lansing State Journal, Oct. 1, 1981 and Aug. 19, 1982.
