Dedicated Sept. 9, 1982. Medium:  Sculpture: Indiana white limestone, carved and cut; Base: stone Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. 40 x 72 x 40 1/2 in.; Base: approx. 16 x 243 x 76 in. (4 tons). Inscription:  (On rear right corner of sculpture, incised:) "VAG"/8-6-82 (On plaque on side of base:) Given in Commemoration/of the Fiftieth Anniversary/of/the Akron Society of Artists/1931-1981 signed Description:  A stylized figure group consisting of a father, a mother, and a child. The figures recline, with the mother and father on the ends and the child in the middle. The father reads a book while the mother and child listen. The sculpture is placed atop a stone bench. The sculpture was given in commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Akron Society of Artists. The stone used for the sculpture was purchased from North Hill Monument in Akron, Ohio.
