    Description: 
    An abstract sculpture of welded scrap iron depicting a standing steelworker wearing a safety helmet. He holds a blow torch in his proper right hand in front of him. Surrounding the steelworker are thirteen circles of welded scrap iron lying directly on the ground. The figure is mounted atop a rectangular base composed of welded steel and concrete.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture honors the steelworkers of the Mahoning Valley, past and present. The artist was commissioned by the Niles Iron and Metal Company to create the sculpture for their 76th anniversary. Welders at the Company assisted the artist. IAS files contain a related article from the Tribune Chronicle (Warren, OH), Sept. 15, 1993.
