Description:
A masonry work in the shape of a sofa, constructed of two different colors of brick, and four cast concrete elements; at the front end of each arm of the sofa is a medallion, and at each lower front end of the sofa is a "foot."

Remarks:
This sculpture was a winner of a regional masonry competition among members of the Association for Visual Artists, members of the American Institute of Architects, and students of art and architecture at the University of Tennessee. IAS files contain copy of article from Chattanooga News-Free Press, April 7, 1993, pg. D1, D3, which discusses the masonry competition and the construction of the winning designs; the photographs included in the article depict the construction of the winning designs, as well as the finished sculptures.
