Structures are depicted in ruin and the detail is such that the texture of stone can be seen on the buildings, as well as cannonballs lying next to cannons. A plaque provides map in relief identifying the 1836 Alamo structures, as well as a key to the map. Sculpture has a mainly horizontal orientation and is placed at ground level.
