    Description: 
    Standing full-length figure of a fireman wearing a uniform that includes a helmet, boots and a knee-length coat. The fireman is holding the nozzle end of a hose with his proper left hand slightly above waist-level. The fireman is standing on a tall shaft which sits on a three-tiered granite base. A ladder, an axe, a long hook, and a lantern are etched on the front of the base.

    Remarks: 
    The cost of the monument was $1,500, with $350 received from city firemen. IAS files contain transcript of related newsclippings from the Beatrice Daily Sun (NE), dating from Sept. 13, 1906 to June 6, 1907. Transcriptions chronicle the monument from its inception to its dedication.
