Inscription:  (Incised on base, front:) DEDICATED TO THE CITY OF/YPSILANTI/BY THE ORDER OF/AHEPA/SEPTEMBER 1928 (Artist's signature appears in Greek characters on the right side of the plinth) signed Description:  Bust of General Demetrius Ypsilanti stands on a tall pedestal and tiered base. The figure wears a military uniform with epaulets and has a moustache. There is a skull and cross bones emblem on his sash. Demetrius Ypsilanti, for whom the town is named, was a general in the Greek army who fought against the Turkish Empire in 1823.
