Two camels, recline with heads up and feet tucked underneath, flank stairway entrance to the temple. Each camel has carved reins decorated with tassels and a saddle.

Noble Louis Kuehn commissioned the sculptures while he was in Europe for the new Tripoli Mosque. They cost approximately $10,000. IAS files contain a related May 1929 article from the Tripoli Tattler.
