IAS files contain a copy of Colchester Independent (Colchester, IL), Nov. 25, 1971 discussing the piece and the participants in the project. The statue was a gift of The Country Schools Restaurants, Inc., Lyons, IL. The dog is a replica of the University mascot named for the nickname of former coach and athletic director, Roy "Rock" Hanson.
