    Remarks:
The sculpture cost $17,500 and was funded by the City of Littleton, with $5,000 of the cost coming from the city's contingency fund. The sculpture was the city's first major art acquisition and its abstract nature and cost were controversial. The sculpture was originally to have been installed on a triangular site east of Rio Grande Park on West Main Street; however, when it was discovered that the city did not own that land, the decision was made to install the work in the new park. Morgan Constructors, Inc. poured the concrete and Schow Masonry applied the bonding cement. A June 30, 1977 article from The Independent (Littleton, Colorado), on file in IAS, reports that the sculpture was damaged from rocks thrown at it and two coats of a stucco-like substance were added to protect the finish and make it more vandal resistant.
