Remarks:
Children climb on the sculpture. IAS files contain transcript of related news articles from San Jose Mercury News, May 21, 1993, 1B and April 23, 1993, 1B. The sculpture was one of five works recommended to the City for purchase and installation along Pacific Avenue as part of the downtown post-earthquake recovery. As part of a contest sponsored by the City's Art Commission, local residents voted on the sculptures of their choice. The Arts Commission funded all five sculptures for a total of $27,800, each work ranging in price from $4,500 to $7,800.
