Erected by the Ladies Memorial Association of Wilcox County and the Wilcox Monumental Association. The monument is enclosed by a low, wrought-iron fence. IAS files contain the names of those honored on the monument and excerpts from "Within the Bend: Stories of Wilcox County," by Ouida Starr Woodson, 1989.
