Remarks:  Portrait of Joseph Fischer Jr. (painted by his daughter, Mrs. Roy W. Miller (Elizabeth “Betty” Fischer). Joseph Fischer Jr., learned the trade of granite cutter/stone mason from his father, but later owned and operated the Wooster Book Bindery with his brother, Jacob Fischer, in the 1890s. After his brother died unexpectedly in 1908 at the age of 39, Joseph became the sole operator of this business. Joseph Fischer Jr. married Sidney McAfee in October of 1895. They had two daughters together, both graduating from the College of Wooster. The donor, Maybelle (Fischer) Woodbridge, was a former Orrville area teacher in the 1920s.
