Bust of comedian Sid Caesar as a hobo, one of the many characters he portrayed on television. He wears a strongly modeled hat with a crumpled top and turned up brim which covers his forehead. His hair and bushy brow peek out below the base of the brim. He wears a disheveled costume that bears a cross-hatch pattern. His shirt collar stands up above a loosely knotted tie and his jacket is oversized and shown only to the ends of his lapels. There are zig-zag edges at the upper edges of the shoulders. He holds a small cigar butt in his proper left hand. The bust has a brown patina. The bust is mounted on a square brass plate atop a rectangular off-white cast stone pedestal.

Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Academy Ventures, 5200 Lankersheim Boulevard, Hall of Fame Plaza, North Hollywood, California 91601
    Remarks:
The bust was commissioned to commemorate Sid Caesar's induction into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame in 1985. Comedian and actor Sid Caesar starred in "Your Show of Shows" with partner Imogene Coca from 1950-1954 and "Caesar's Show" from 1954-1957.
The sculpture was one of several pieces in place for the May 4, 1991 dedication ceremonies of the Academy's new headquarters. The sculpture's selection and placement in the plaza were overseen by the Hall of Fame Sculpture Committee, chaired by architect Jan Scott. Scott also designed the pedestal for the sculpture. The sculpture is cleaned every three months. IAS files contain a related article about the ATAS Hall of Fame.
