    Description:
A fountain sculpture of Mary as a young mother, kneeling and leaning back, holding the toddler Jesus on her lap with both arms out. She has straight, shoulder-length hair and bare feet. Jesus stands with both feet resting on his mother's thighs, leaning back slightly, as she supports him from behind. He stretches his arms out towards her. The sculpture is mounted atop a rectangular base of rough-hewn stone that rests in a slightly oval fountain pool filled with pebbles and stones. Jets of water project out of the pebbles in the pool on either side of the sculpture. The fountain is situated in a prayer garden where it is partially enclosed by bushes and trees.

    Remarks:
The sculpture and Prayer Garden were commissioned in 1991 by the Holy Spirit Church in memory of Lewis and Margaretta Mohlenkamp, longtime parishioners of the church, who both died in the 1980s. Funding for the sculpture came from the Mohlenkamp's estate. Landscape architect for the project was Larry Melillo. Mary Webb was the design consultant. The stonemason was Don Ritter. The sculpture and Prayer Garden were dedicated on May 16, 1991 at the conclusion of a Marian service at the church. IAS files contain a May 23, 1991 clipping from an unidentified source.
